IAAF Coaches Education and Certification System (CECS)
Level IV Course – Middle and Long Distances
IAAF CECS Level IV Course in Middle and
Long Distances was held in Moscow in the period of September 17 – 30, 2011 in
the facilities of the Russia State University for Physical Education, Sports and
Tourism.
Prof. Vitaliy Cherkashin (Russia) was
moderating this Course. He was assisted by IAAF Official Lecturer Vladimir
Bozhko (Russia).
The Course was attended by 16 participants
from 13 countries – Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia (4), Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine,
Uzbekistan.
There were 32 theoretical sessions during
the Course, 14 sessions were dedicated to the plan setting (mezocycles and
microcycles), 20 practical sessions including the sessions with a group of young
athletes, University students. In addition to official program of the Course
there was a round table discussion dedicated to the issues of development of
middle and long distances in Europe and Central Asia. Dr. Elio Locatelli,
Director, IAAF Member Services Department, and Vadim Zelichenok, Dierctor, IAAF
Moscow RDC, took part in the discussion.
All materials issued by IAAF for this
particular Course were translated into Russian language and distributed among
participants in the electronic format after the course.
At the end of the Course participants had
to sit for exams in 4 areas: written, oral, planning of microcycles, practical
sessions. All 16 participants have successfully passed exams and received
certificates “IAAF Coach Level IV”. Two participants, namely Valentin Davalov (Rusian)
and Harry Lemberg (Estonia) received the highest marks in all four parts of
examinations.
